In the LightCities there will be no schools but playgrounds. Science shows that we learn much better through playing, not working. We learn the things that are necessary to us naturally without effort (like speaking a language). Just by doing the things we enjoy doing we will do exactly the things that are necessary for our well-being and happiness as well as the well-being and happiness of the whole society.
Besides the respect of other people, we don’t have to enforce anything upon our children. Specially things that machines and robots will do for us including reading, writing, calculating and any type of work. If we need to learn anything we will do it naturally and freely just because we really need it and therefore want to.
We can already learn by ourselves everything thanks to internet which provides us with an easy access to the whole knowledge base of humanity. Knowledge can now be delivered individually, everywhere and at the time we need it. It is also already adapted to any level of learning.
Some parents now understands that the schools have become completely obsolete and even harmful to the development of their children. We don’t want our children to learn any kind of work. Tomorrow all the work will be done by machines. We will all be playing.
Health
Everyone will be given the best medical treatment available free of charge. Every life is as precious as any other.
In the near future, doctors and surgeons will be replaced by an AI.
The community will naturally care and look after the old, the weak and the sick without having to employ people.
Sustainability
In a world of limited resources, one can fulfill the limitless needs of the human beings through an endless recycling of those resources. To avoid ending up living on mountains of waste, everything will need to be /can be recyclable and ultimately biodegradable.
Bio-technologies must be developed so as to produce everything biologically and be fully integrated in the recycling process of nature,
To “bio” everything is the key to a sustainable world of abundance.
Citizens
Citizens will be selected according to criteria that will be set initially by the first LightCity council. The LightCity council is a council of elders who gives recommendations for an harmonious running of the LightCity. The selection’s criteria may change according to the wish of the citizenry.
New Comers – Education and training are the backbone of the social organization of the LightCities. To fully reap the benefits of the LightCities high tech and harmonious society, new comers will be required to go through compulsory training on language, values, rules and technology utilization to access the distribution of goods and services, in addition to the LightCity maintenance related training.
Tourism
Tourism will be an important industry in LightCities This industry will provide the necessary currencies to deal with the world as long as money exists. The LightCities will attract leisure tourists who want to experience the LifeCities’ lifestyle.
The LightCity citizens who want to travel will receive an allowance based on the number of hours contributed. The money from tourism plus the sales of the LightCity’s goods and services to other parts of the world that have not embraced paradism will be used to allow the citizens to travel and buy the products that cannot be made in the LightCity.
